Are the free images in the Public Domain?

  • No, Nicole's pieces are never to be considered "Public Domain" nor meant to be redistributed in any way.

Sharing artwork with others

  • Nicole's art can be shared with your visitors on a personal web page using the FREE graphics ONLY, a clickable link with full credits has to be provided linking to: http://www.mnmdigitalart.com.

Products showing at Zazzle.com, ArtistRising.com, Greetingcarduniverse.com and Cafepress.com can be linked to in your blogs, MySpace.com page etc. However, we do not associate with sites promoting abusive/porno content. A short e-mail notification would also be very much appreciated.

Is Nicole available for commissions?

  • Unfortunately no! She does not take commissions. Her art has to come spontaneously and from within to give some life and soul to the characters. She does admire people who are capable of working on commissions, she just belongs to the group of artists who work differently.

What about licenses fees?

  • Nicole's artworks can be licensed. The best way is to contact her as she will decide the kind of licensing you will need for the use of of her art. We do have low-priced licensing for limited personal use.

If you are an individual, send us your request for a (or multiple) specific file(s) using the name of the file(s) , the name can be found in Gallery 1 and 2 sections by clicking on the image of your choice. Full instructions regarding payment will be sent to you by return-e-mail.  After receipt of your payment through PayPal the digital file (s) will be available for download or can be sent to your e-mail address. Through PayPal you can also use major credit cards. We are PayPal certified.

For multiple commercial licensing and exclusive rights to some of the images, please contact us for a quote.

Exclusive licensing

  • Exclusive licensing is cheaper than exclusive rights, it allows unlimited use of the image on any material, but property rights, copyrights stay with the original artist who can at any time, reproduce the image with no limitations on any products. A theme or image purchased by a webmaster for the sole purpose of building a client web and transferring the license would fall into this category, therefore allowing the web-designer to use the same image © when creating multiple sets or web-templates.
The licensing fee is based on how widely the image will be distributed.

Tubes, snow-globes, avatars, signatures, etc.

  • At the moment Nicole's artworks cannot be used in any of these products. She is trying to make all these items available in the near future through an online business.  However she can make an exception for not-for-profit organization.

You may contact her by mail for permission. She does request some identification within the e-mail request,  like a link to a website, blog etc. as well as the complete name of the person requesting any information. Her art is not available to adult sites dealing with any abusive and/or pornographic elements.

How about using your images in a collage?

  • Send us a request and we will discuss the terms.

Using and re-selling images in online stores

  • If you are planning to utilize images falling under the one-time use,  by uploading these images at an online company (such as CafePress for instance), and apply the same image on multiple products to be bought or resold, you will need to contact us with your proposal.

If I see a piece at another store, not showing here, and would like to license it?

  • Just send us the link, title, place, with your request. Chances are the digital file will be available for licensing.

I believe one of Nicole's painting would logo great as a business logo, can I purchase the rights to use it?

  • Yes! A one time flat fee of $40.00 will be charged for non-exclusive rights only. Once the payment is received through PayPal and their secure site, the digital image will be sent to you in high resolution to assure great printing. Non exclusive rights mean that the same image you are ordering may be purchased by others.

Where do you get your inspiration?

  • Inspiration is all over. From a specific smell triggering an almost forgotten memory, a melody, a beautiful painting, scenery, or a simple peaceful moment in life. Traveling, reconnecting with nature has always an inspiring effect. Looking at beautiful houses and gardens from the past is one of my favorites activities. Every detail of what surrounds us is important for inspiration and creativity, an old rusty key, a faded soft fabric and your mind just goes into places that only you can visit. :-)

Art in the healing process?

  • Actually I do believe there is some truth in art playing a role in healing as a force. As Georges Braque (the painter) once said: "Art is a wound turned into light." I find art to be very therapeutic as an artist but it has been said that "some pieces of art have the power to change the physical, mental and emotional energy fields of the viewer."

NYC neurologist Oliver Sacks actually believes in the healing power of music. His book "Musicophilia" examines the relationship between music and the brain and healing effect on people suffering from diseases like Parkinson, Alzheimer's etc.

Favorite Artists?

  • There are numerous contemporary artists that I respect a lot. Amongst my favorites in the "Fantasy" genre are Josephine Wall and Jeff K Bedrick but this is a non-exclusive list as so many have so much to offer. Artists from the past would include Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt etc.

Do you have any plans in opening your own shop on-line in the future?

  • Yes! This a dream of mine.  A few products like embellished cards and prints for instance. This project is in the making right now as I'm in the process of gathering all needed materials.  I traveled so much these last few years that I could not find the time to really accomplish this objective.

In the meantime you can get my paintings on a variety of products through on-line companies that we have trusted. The "Products" section have a link to each of them.
